This week in Lembeh…. we say bland can be beautiful?? For such an amazing creature, the common seahorse’s (Hippocampus kuda) name does not do it justice. Our guest have seen plenty this week and still love everyone. As we have just passed Valentines day lets share a few fun romantic facts about the Seahorse.
-Seahorse mate for life.
-Courtship dances can last up to 8 hours.
-When in pairs they prefer to link tails and travel together.
-The male carries the eggs till they hatch.
Russ and Barbara have been filling hard drives upon hard drives, filming in 4k. They were super excited that on the first 3 dives they had seen 5 blue ringed octopus. Gareth and Paul were lucky to see a Sargassim frogfish down at about 10m. Rare to not find them on the surface of the water.
We sadly waved off long time guests: Nicole, Tiger, Andrew, Neil, Deb, and Amanda. They leave this time with tones of photos to last them till the next time they are back. Neil being well happy with his bearded goby and Deb having had a chance at the Pontohi pygmy seahorse.
The rest of the guests have as well been treated to: Hairy frogfish, Ambon scorpion fish, skeleton shrimp, coconut octopus, harlequin shrimp, Lembeh sea dragons, flamboyant cuttlefish, hairy shrimp, etc.
Yes, last few weeks was really a reunion of returning guests from Uk, Finland, Sweden etc… That really shows how special, individual and excellent work and service you give for all of your guests. Diving in Lembeh is fantastic but you Dani and Matt + your staff really made us coming back over and over again !!!
