/// This week in Amed – From The Big to The Small

09 Mar / 2017

diving in AmedWe’ve had a little of everything this week in Amed, from the big to the small! Yue joined us from China to do both her Open Water and Advanced courses and by the time she left she’d not only learned to dive but had checked a lot of boxes.

We saw 3 species of Octopus included the Mimic Octopus (at the USAT Liberty shipwreck) which even put on a show for us and pretended to be a sea snake :) Add to that Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Estuary Seahorse, Ambon Scorpionfish, Bobtail Squid (my personal favourite animal of the night) and bigger marine life like Napoleons and Turtles. That’s a lot of fish that are still on the wishlist of many more experienced divers!!

Meanwhile our tech instructor Yvonne was diving at 65m at Batu Kelibit with student Olivier where they saw our first Mola of the season. Nice!!

So it’s been flat seas, sunny days and amazing marine life – another top week in Amed!!
