Lembeh, well what can I say….I am extremely new to muck diving and to say this place blew my mind for numerous reasons is an understatement!!!! Firstly, I have never been to a place where you enter the water and on every single dive you encounter crazy amounts of new critters that I’ve never seen before – it was literally like being on another planet for me!
During my time in Lembeh I ticked off all the critters which I wanted to encounter and so, so, much more! From huge Painted Frogfish (my favourite ) to Blue Ring Octopus and everything in between – there is just too many to list. A guest that I met on Bunaken while doing my Divemaster course also came to Lembeh while I was there. Chris took the fantastic images included in this blog – cheers!
Most importantly Mark and Debs, the Lembeh Managers and Dive Instructors, are by far the kindest and most professional instructors I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the last 2 years of diving. Not only did they make me feel incredibly welcome, they made a huge effort on day one to layout a plan for the week so I could achieve as much towards my dive master as possible – from my nitrox certification / completion of my water skills exercises to my Rescue practice and loads of fun diving in between. Not only this, everyday began, and ended, with smiles and laughter. I can’t thank these guys enough for their help and knowledge. I can honestly say I’m incredibly sad to be leaving this wonderful place.
To summarise my week… you would be absolutely crazy to not include a week here as part of your Divemaster training. Trust me – you will not regret it!
