Diving is the main activity on our Resorts and also is the center of most of this posts but, for the people that can’t dive or doesn’t want for any reason, there is another great way to enjoy the creatures and corals that we talk about: From the surface, or from certain depth, depending on the ability of each person. And this week we had Beth with us, that have been enjoying (a lot!) our rich waters from the top. Have been fishy snorkeling days around Penida & Lembongan!
From the surface, with the snorkel and with our staff guiding her around, Beth has enjoyed the Manta madness of Manta Bay, with 5 or 6 individuals at the same time getting so close to her that had to even swim away at some point. And drifted the waters of the North of Penida, flying on top of the healthy reefs, and experiencing the rich corals and fish live of Toyapakeh, one of our best sites, right on the corner of the channel between Cenningan and Penida. And was amazed by the turtles, by the huge giant pufferfishes, by the different species of Anemone Fishes, by Scorpionfishes camouflaging as good as possibly can be done, or their beautiful relatives, Lion Fishes, posing on top of Stanghorn Corals.
Beth came with her husband, Wayne, that was diving with our Dive Guide Albert, that also guided Kim, a really friendly Divemaster from UK, and Derek, an Aussie that has been Diving Instructor since 1974 and with lots of dives under his belt, as you can imagine. But, as always, our company and dive sites cater for all levels and have always had less experience divers that have been improving their skills and being amazed by the Underwater World, like Alice and Auster from Hong Kong, Natalia from Ukraine and Stefan and Thomas from Germany. Well, and we had another Aussie, Jamie! That finished his Divemaster Course this week! Congrats for that!! “Too easy.” 🙂
Was a fun and nice week for the Divers and for the Snorkelers, and with long conversations in our Restaurant after each lunch, talking about everything and sharing experiences from different countries and backgrounds. How great is that!
(Thanks Beate for this cool pic!!!)
