Our second PADI IDC at Two Fish Divers Lembongan started on 15 September with the IDC orientation and theory pre-evaluation!

This week in Amed… Two Fish Divers start the first PADI IDC in Amed ! Amed start to become some of the most famous diving place. Become a diving instructor and start to teach in good environment. It is magic when your students are distracted by a bumphead parrotfish while they are doing a hover skill.
We are now able to offer PADI TecRec instructor courses in Amed this summer after our IDC Course! Jeff Glenn, one of Asia’s most highly qualified and respected technical diving instructor trainers, will be joining us so why not take this opportunity to help you stand out from the instructor crowd?
It has been another epic month here when diving in Nusa Lembongan, the oceans have been gifting us with all sorts of wonders. Over at Manta Point there have been so many manta’s coming in to feed and be cleaned giving all the divers amazing close encounters 20 plus with each visit! At the north end of Nusa Penida we have also been very lucky with sightings of the magnificent Mola Ramsiay cruising along the reef only at 20m deep but we have also been treated to a very very rare sighting of a Thresher Shark, which is typically a very deep water shark only occasionally coming up to the shallow waters to be cleaned!!
It has been a busy week with life-changing adventures for the 8 candidates doing our PADI Instructor Development Course in Lembongan. Over the last week and a bit, these 8 candidates have been working hard to get themselves prepared for becoming PADI instructors. Today is the first day of the PADI Instructor Exam, Mikko, Tristan, Flora, Nicole, Prashanti, Rhome , Sherrine and Matteo are all prepared for the two days of exams.
As my PADI instructor course and internship at Two Fish Divers in Bunaken comes to a close, I can’t help but look over this past month and realize how much I’ve learned and experienced in such a short period of time. In a lot of ways, it feels like it’s been so much longer than a month. But of course in other ways it feels like it’s been only a couple days.
Two years ago, Simon completed his Divemaster course with Two Fish Divers Bunaken. This year, he returned to take the next step and become a PADI instructor. After his course, he decided to stay on for a couple of weeks and complete an instructor internship. Here’s how it went….

This week in Bunaken… Dugong o’hoy! Luke from Australia got a very nice surprise when he did some snorkelling on the dive site Muka, just in front of the Two Fish Divers resort. While enjoying the reef ledge something made him turn around and just a couple of meters behind him, a few meters down, swam a dugong!
It’s September and it’s that time of the year again! The PADI Instructor Development Course has just begun with PADI Course Director Marlies Lang here at Two Fish Divers Bunaken. A frequent visitor to Two Fish Divers, James, has put himself up to the challenge of becoming a PADI instructor. He’s only just started this journey a few days ago, beginning with his Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor course. Here’s a sneak peak into some of the seriously fun times he had during his EFR Instructor course. His students, Marlies, Ken and Sandy weren’t the sharpest to begin, but he James helped correct their mistakes. Can you find what was being done wrong?
Our next PADI IDC in Indonesia starts on 23 Sept 2014, and we are running a few articles to give prospective students more insight into our PADI IDC Course. Last week we blogged all about our PADI IDC Course Director, Marlies Lang, this week we want to give some details about the content of our PADI IDC Course.

Our final IDC of the year was recently held 26 Sept-7 Oct IDC. We only had 2 candidates, and they were therefore lucky to have the Course Director all to themselves. Congratulations Arto and Jimmy for successfully finishing your IDC!
Whats great about doing the IDC with us in Bunaken is that the diving is so good, and after the IDC both of them had a well deserved rest and went diving. Arto decided to take it a step further and had a try-dive on a CCR rebreather, another advantage of doing your IDC with a center that is also a PADI TECRec Center!
THIS WEEK IN BUNAKEN: We congratulate Arto and Jimmy who finished their IDC yesterday and wish them all the best for the IE tomorrow. Check out the pic of Arto diving with a CCR – he loved the quiet, no bubbles experience!! Also this week barracudas galore on the day trip, lots of sharks, schools…
