Two Fish Divers now a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Dive operation - in October 2004 we were awarded the status of 5 Star Dive operation by PADI, and in June 2007 we were awarded the status of 5 Star Instructor Development Dive operation.

These are steps up from being just a PADI Resort, but what does this really mean? In order to receive the 5 Star status a dive operation needs to have in place the following.

An above average safety for diving

1. compressors regularly tested for air quality
2. oxygen and first aid on board every dive boat

Community and conservation involvement

1. all our staff are from the local communities
2. we are active members of the conservation society, North Sulawesi Watersports Association (NSWA), through which we help organise initiatives on reef conservation
3. we have just started an education fund for orphans/poor children in the marine park, and the proceeds from the sales of our postcards goes into this fund

Real commitment to dive courses

1. we have 3 european instructors, and every high season we hire a 4th european instructor for 6 months
2. since 2002 we have already run more than 500 dive courses, and every year we are committed to conducting at least 100 dive courses

In order to receive the 5 Star Instructor Development status a dive operation needs to have in place all the above, as well as organise instructor development courses (IDC's).
