Hello Two Fish friends, Tom here again for another dive masters trainee blog.
I’m progressing slowly but surely through the course, and am in the last quarter now..
I’ve assisted on four discover scuba’s and one bubble maker, both great as they are designed for people to access the world of diving, quickly and without much learning.
Our guests joined us for a “dive against debris” on our adopted dive site “Muka Kampung” in front of Bunaken village.
Everybody had an amazing dive seeing lots of turtles and did a great job in picking up debris on the way.
12 divers collected 17 plastic bags, 18 plastic beverage bottles, 2 buckets, 3 food containers, 11 cups and plates, 8 diapers, 10 fishing lines, 22 food wrapers, 27 pieces of rope, 9 plastic fragments, 4 glass bottles, 1 beverage can, 1 food can, 4 towels, 1 head torch and 3 shoes. This amounted in a total 8.5 kg of debris which got removed from that beautiful dive site.
Happy….. What is it?? This week in Lembongan… there is a special time, called Galungan, a 10 days Balinese festival period. Full of Hindu religious ceremonies which culminates at Kuningan. This week started all the preparations in Lembongan, with many bamboo and palm leaves ornaments arriving to the shops and ready to be sold to the villagers. Temples where adorned and locals started to prepare their beautiful and unique ceremonial attires.
Going into my sixth week of the divemaster course. Time flies when you are having fun! 😎 I’m happy with the choice of spreading the course over 8 weeks. It increased the amount of experience I earned by having time to do fun dives where I am able to learn from the dive guides or to guide several dives myself.
