Fun divers are having turtle town in Bunaken, and it’s not the size that matters in Lembongan.
Its been a great critter week in Lembeh with returning guests and octopus, our DMT spotted a dead sperm whale on the beach in Bunaken, and we have a post about the new Mini Dive that students have to do in the new PADI Open Water course.
Finally, we are celebrating shark and ray protection under CITES as the international trade protections officially go into effect!!

THIS WEEK IN BUNAKEN – Turtle town around Bunaken
THIS WEEK IN LEMBONGAN – It’s Not The Size That Matters
There is a lot more then just the big creatures here in Lembongan. To some divers it’s not the size that matters. Sadly it has been the motion of the ocean that has stopped us getting out to the manta spots this week but our dive guides have been finding lots of small creatures tucked away in the reef.
THIS WEEK IN LEMBEH – Cephalatastic Times in Lembeh
The Adventures of DMT Ishan – Spotting a Sperm Whale
This week started off with us spotting a Sperm Whale being washed ashore at the small jetty at Bunaken. I was pretty thrilled as this was the first time I had seen a whale although it was in a pretty bad state.
PROJECT AWARE – It’s the final count down!
On 15th March 2013, an unprecedented number of commercially valuable shark and ray species won protections from international trade under CITES, and 14th September is the day that these international trade protections officially go into effect!!
The mini-dive is a new addition to the confined water section of the new PADI Open Water Course skills. This is where student divers plan a simulated dive in a controlled environment with the assistants of their instructor. To make dive planning even easier, students now have the dive planning slate that walks them through all the steps of dive planning.
Thanks for learning with us!
Congrats to all our courses in Bunaken & Lembeh last week!! Hope to see you again at Two Fish Divers.
