Welcome to our Weekly Roundup! Last week we had aliens, trimix diving, the end of tanks, ghostpipefish and the amazing Shark Buses of Hong Kong!
In Bunaken we had lots of little wonders; in Lembeh we had a Ghost Pipefish bonanza; in Lembongan we found aliens in the water; in TEC we had trimix wall dives around Bunaken; and we have a report from our DMT intern who went from Bunaken to Bali.
Meanwhile, from around the globe we offer you some more tips for taking a better photo; give you some interesting facts about the manta’s mating in a train; share with you the possibility of tanks being replaced by crystals; show you an amazing Shark Bus on the roads of Hong Kong; and explain why marine reserves work.
Plus, here is a photo of our new hammock area in Lembogan – its right next to our pool bar, fancy a swing and a cold beer?

This Week in Two Fish
This week in Bunaken … dive guides have been showing off to our divers Bunaken’s little wonders underwater, including ornate ghost pipe fish, Potoh’s pygmy seahorse and the usual range of candy & orang-utan crabs, skeleton shrimps and whatever else is smaller than the normal eye can see. Pictured here is the ornate ghost pipe fish (black & yellow variation) hanging upside-down next to a feather star.
This week in Lembeh … This week in Lembeh we’re having a Ghost Pipefish bonanza! The dive sites have gone crazy with them and we’ve seen all of the species known to this area.
This week in Lembongan … We have been founding aliens in the water. As the currents move and the waves roll, these salps find each other. Using jet propulsion these planktonic link together to form growing and growing communities.
This week in tec … Our helium supply has been replenished so we have been out doing some amazing trimix wall dives around Bunaken! Of course, this means we talk a bit funny afterwards, but the helium in our gas mixture allows us to go beyond the 50 meter range to explore the life at these greater depths!

In Bunaken we said goodbye to Joana, but hello to her again in Lembongan as she continues her combo DMT Internship in Bali and Bunaken. Read how she compares the locations when she talks about Bali and Bunaken For Your Divemaster Internship.

Take better underwater photos with these tips about Snapping Prize-Winning Underwater Photos from Jim Decker, they are useful to every level of photographer.
Last week Lembongan witnessed manta’s dancing in a train, read how this is actually part of their sexual selection as the male closest to the female wins the dance!
Will these be a thing of the past? A few years ago scientists discovered Aquaman crystals that could see humans breathe underwater.
This is such a great idea! Shark Buses driving around Hong Kong spreading the word, and if you take a selfie with them then you get a free t-shirt!
Share this with as many divers and non-divers alike – it’s a nice breakdown on why marine reserves can work!
Thanks for learning with us!
Congrats to all our courses in Bunaken, Lembeh and Lembongan last week!! Hope to see you again at Two Fish Divers.
