This Week in Lembeh…. There is a Cold Bonanza! Waters have been slowly chilling the last past weeks in the strait, dropping to a much cooler 24deg. Where as this may not sound pleasant, life is exploding all over the place. We are getting more sightings of Cephalopods, Nudibranchs, Shrimps, Crabs, the water is really alive. Night dive’s have been going out on a daily basis with Bobtailed squid, long arm octopus, squids, congregating sea hares, and many more critters being highlights.
Ex Divemaster Trainee Philippa has joined us AGAIN for a last ditch attempt as finding her blue ringed octopus she has been searching for. Day 1…… Check …. And a wonderpus was thrown in for good measure. Nicolas has been with us for over a week giving his camera a great workout, with some excellent photos of pygmy seahorses.
Tarja has finished another stint with us seeing new things every time, this time one of the highlights was a Leptocephali, otherwise thought of as a transparent ribbon eel. Little is known about this and is thought to be the Larvae stage of the eel. Sadly no cameras were on this dive to catch it.
Yes,it was chilly water but diving was fabulous !! Left there this morning but ready to come back soon
