New: Two Fish Divers’ AMED DIVE CENTER!
Two Fish Divers are proud to announce the opening of our new Amed dive center, on the East coast of Bali, so now you can dive Amed on your Indonesian Dive Safari! Very close to fantastic scuba diving and away from the hustle and bustle of the southern Bali resorts, we couldn’t be happier to be here in beautiful Amed.
Over the last few months the team has been working hard at building our Two Fish Divers Amed dive center, one which lives up to the standard we’ve set with our other amazing dive locations and resorts across Indonesia. We are now ready for you and we are offering a discount of 20% if you book in advance with us to stay & dive in Amed, Bali throughout March/April 2016!
7 good reasons why we opened our Amed dive center
Amed is the name given to a series of villages along a 14km strip of coast on the East of Bali, and we are based in Amed village itself. Very laid back, this is a very traditional part of Bali, with wooden jukungs (fishing boats) lining the black sand beaches where you can also see pans of sea salt drying in the sun, still produced in the time-honoured fashion.
Although only a 2.5 hour drive through the rice paddies from Bali airport it feels a million miles away from the fast paced life of Kuta, Seminyak and Sanur. On one side the sea, on the other jungle-covered hills towered over by Mount Agung, the highest mountain on Bali.
Here are some other great things about scuba diving in Amed.
1. 20 minutes from USAT Liberty shipwreck in Tulamben
A short drive will take you to the world-famous USAT Liberty shipwreck in Tulamben, this means that we can dive it before the hordes arrive from the south Bali resorts, and even do night dives on it!
2. Incredible muck diving
With many black sand beaches along the Amed coast, we have exceptional critter diving- many species of nudibranchs, seahorses, ghost pipefish and frogfish, along with weird and wonderful pipefish, sea moths, octopus and cuttlefish, shrimps of all shapes and sizes.. the list goes on and on.
You do not need to go far from the Two Fish Divers Amed dive center for some world class muck-diving! We are based on the beach and can offer unlimited diving on our house reef. This is a very good muck dive with black sand, occasional rocks and mooring lines that offer some amazing macro life. We are still exploring and have already found many seahorses, frogfish, ghost pipefish, mantis shrimp, nudibranchs, pipefish, a variety of shrimp and other crustaceans, saddleback anemonefish, long horned cowfish and much more.
And of course we have our usual quality of Two Fish Eagle Eyed Guide™ to help you find them all!
3. Great variety of diving
Overall Amed offers great variety – we have some great reefs and drifts with a chance to see sharks and other big stuff, muck dives for critter hunting, multiple shipwrecks including the Liberty covered in corals and fish – whatever sort of diving you like we can offer you here (well, except ice diving!).
4. Strategic dive center location

It’s also ideally located for a trip to experience all that Bali & Indonesia has to offer:
Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida – its only a 60-minute boat-ride to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida, so we can organise day-trips for to see the manta’s, and if you are lucky the mola mola’s. This also makes it easy to combo diving with us in Amed and our resort in Nusa Lembongan!
Padang Bai and Candidasa – these are about one hour south of Amed by road, making them within easy reach you can easily arrange a multi-centre holiday with us, seeing the best each location has to offer.
Lombok is only 40mins away – There are daily fast-boats that make the direct 40-min trip to the Gili Island, meaning that you can easily mix up a trip of diving in Amed with the hammerhead sharks of Belongas from our dive operation in South Lombok!
5. Perfect for dive courses
With many sheltered bays free from current this is a perfect place to learn to dive or to take your PADI training to the next level.
6. Great accommodation
We’re based in our partner resort, Surya Rainbow Villas, situated right on the beach at the north end of Amed Village (We can even just stroll into the water from the centre to dive on our house reef!).
