This week in Amed … we discovered one of the most famous critter’s in Amed, the Denise’s pygmy seahorse! One of our guests is a very experienced diver Monica and she did her PADI Wreck Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver and PADI Digital Underwater Photography specialities, and she asked us to try and find some rare and very interesting critters. That was a good opportunity for us to show what out guides can do!!
We went to the Drop-Off at Tulamben which has some of the deepest dive sites around Amed. It did not take us a long time before we could find the Denise’s pygmy seahorse. It is so tiny, and Monica could practice her macro shooting skills for her photography course.
We also have Keiko, one of our repeater guests, visiting us. She has already dived with us in Bunaken and Lembeh, and she wanted to see what Amed diving could offer. She was surprised by the wide biodiversity of the area that included big fishes like barracuda and bumphead parrot-fish. Keiko is a macro-critters-lover, and our divemaster Gery was happy to find her critters like Mimic octopus, nudibranchs, leaf scorpionsfish and seahorses. Her journey was too short, but she will come back soon!
Hope to see you soon in Amed!
