Night dives are amazing. I always knew that but since I’ve come here they have become my favourite dives ever. Due to my Divemaster Night Dive Speciality, I spend a lot of time night diving this week. Two blue ringed octopus, several leaf fishes, squids, a giant sponge crab and heaps and heaps of little shrimps in one dive – almost impossible to top!
There is just something magical and adventurous about diving in the dark and encountering animals that are hidden away during the day.
We also started working on my deep dive specialty for which we went to a beautiful wreck with Instructor Markus. Doing maths at 30 meters and writing “Jakarta” backwards to check the effects of nitrogen narcosis? Check!
Today all us four girls did the 400m swimming, 800m snorkelling and 100m towing test with Dion which is part of the divemaster program. It was pretty exhausting but we all passed which means that we are one step closer to becoming a divemaster. Well done, girls!
yours,
Lilly
