Going into my sixth week of the divemaster course. Time flies when you are having fun! ? I’m happy with the choice of spreading the course over 8 weeks. It increased the amount of experience I earned by having time to do fun dives where I am able to learn from the dive guides or to guide several dives myself.
It is nice to be more involved into the broad professional dive world by helping out the boat crew or giving dive briefings when people arrive in the resort. An amazing feeling to be part of this world, it gives me the opportunity to make my profession out of my passion. Slowly but steadily I’m evolving into my course, last week there was the fair amount of stress for conducting the pool sessions of a scuba review and the discover scuba.
On that moment I was thinking back of the time when I arrived in Bunaken, I secretly asked my buddy what is the sign for 100 and 50 bar, being too embarrassed not knowing that as a rescue diver who hasn’t dived for one year and a half, if that can be an excuse ☺️. I’m proud of myself when I have a look back and compare the diver I was then and the diver I became now.
Especially very happy when people ask me the hand signals because this means I’m not the only one who forgets them! In a few days I’m off to Lembeh for another 3 weeks. Very looking forward to the diving there and having the experience of working in another dive resort but what the hell… I’m going to miss the people in Bunaken !
