The North Gilis this week we have been going wild with try dives for the boat staff!! It has been extremely fun, a little challenging at times but well worth it. A real team building exercise and also it is good for all the staff working within the dive centre to know for themselves exactly why we do this. After a few pool sessions we are then out and about exploring the sites.
The island of Gili Air is still rather quiet for the season, all dive centres, restaurants and activity organisations have been feeling it. Although it has been quiet we have still had a few courses and fun divers each day.
The water temperature is up and down, mostly we have warm 28-29 c but a couple of times it dropped to 27. As for the underwater creatures this week we have been seeing a lot more of Bluefin trevally on almost all the dive sites. Just yesterday we had one follow us the entire dive, he came so close. Such a beautiful fish which is silver with electric blue fins and spots scattered over their body.
We have also been seeing Longfin Bat fish, White and black tip reef sharks, turtles are a almost guarantee around the north Gilis. As for the macro Ankers whip coral shrimp are around a lot ranging from the colours of pink, green and orange. Hard coral crabs, nudibranch, hairy squat lobsters, mantis shrimp, peacock tail anemone shrimp and painted spiny lobsters. The list goes on my friends.
There really is such a variety up here in the North of Lombok
