Divemaster trainee Joe decided on short notice to take his divemaster course, here is a note on his experience…
I arrived in Bunaken on July 29th for 4 days of fun diving with a friend, upon my last day of my visit, I sat down with one of Bunaken’s current dive master trainees who got me extremely excited at the opportunity of becoming a dive master.
After leaving for a few days I missed the place so much I contacted Two Fish and decided straight away to sign up for the 5 weeks DMT training course spread over 3 locations Bunaken / Lembeh and Nusa Lembongan. Three days later I was back on Bunaken Island being greeted by all the staff that were genuinely happy to see me return.
The first week was incredibly varied – helping the team set up the boats / kitting up new guests with equipment, and assisting Yayan (a current instructor) on a three day Open Water course. I spent my time mapping dive sites and with lots of incredible fun diving. What I love about Bunaken is the varied marine life, from the many incredible wall dives, the wreck diving, to the smaller critters available at some of the muck diving sites.
But what I loved most about this location is all the different guests that come and go over your period of time from all parts of the world , sharing diving experiences and advice increasing my knowledge and confirming that I’ve made the best decision in my 31 years on this planet.
Make the plunge you will not regret it.
