This week in Amed, we finally re-opened the Dive shop after some adventures with local nature. Moli, one of our Local dive guide took two experienced fun divers this morning and encountered a frogfish. This species is both interesting and unique; it can be found in pretty much all tropical to sub-tropical waters. Surprising in its diversity, 46 known species so far, its size ranges from 2 cm to 38 cm.
Very hard to spot due to its ability to hide and camouflage, you need a trained eye and some patience to find them. Even if the frogfish cannot change its color as fast a chameleon. It may take weeks to proceed!! Another cool fact about those, is the way they move around, by Jet Propulsion; sounds cool, right?
But our amazing crew knows how to find them among many other underwater wonders. And the picture of this one was spotted by the Shipwreck USAT Liberty in Tulamben; since the Mount Agung is back to a “normal” status, we can now offer dives again over there to our loyal guests!
Lots to see in Amed, and a lot more to learn underwater with our crew of dedicated Instructors and dive guides! We’re all back and waiting for you! Our PADI dive center is fully running!
