I arrived in Gili Air for the third location of my divemaster course. The island is really nice and a bit more touristic than Bunaken or Sekotong. It will allow me to assist with more courses. The diving so far has been quite great. There is a bit of broken coral but not as much as I expected. The sites are beautiful and have a really diverse topography (slopes, walls, the bottom covered with corals, a ponton of a floating restaurant…). The life underwater is also really great, diverse and quite packed in some areas. You can see many many turtles, triggerfish, trumpetfish, angelfish, batfish, and even a few sharks if you’re lucky!
I really enjoy it in here, I am still getting to know all the staff members and so far all of them have been great to me. It is quite nice to get to different locations as it allows me to see other ways to dive. The boat is really different and even the logistics: for example being on a small island you need to get the tanks filled up on Lombok and not just at the centre itself. It is great to have the possibility to see so many ways to do the same thing as it does not only teach you how to do one thing but how to make one thing happen whatever the conditions!
