The hatching and birth of any sea creature is a treasured moment for any diver despite the length of time the diver has been diving for. Even more so, is to witness a cuttlefish hatching.
Some of our divers witnessed the hatching of a Cuttlefish in all of it’s tiny glory this week. After spotting the shell of a coconut to be full of tiny eggs, one hatched revealing a tiny flamboyant cuttlefish. Despite it’s small size, it had already possessed the clear and vibrant yellow and pink skin that defines this critter. After hatching, it drifted gracefully off into the big blue to begin it’s life. Unfortunately it was too small to take a picture, but we think we got a photo of its mum!!
Also sighted this week were Mimic Octopus, Wunderpus, Blue-Ringed Octopus, Frogfish, Eels, blue spotted rays and a huge variety of shrimp. A great week!!
We hope you can come and join us in Lembeh.
