My name is Chris, I’m from the UK and I’m a Divemaster Trainee with Two Fish. Welcome to my blog!
I’ve been on Gili Air training with Sal, Megan, and Kuss the instructors here for almost two weeks and it’s been a blast from the start. Before I go on I have to mention the other supporting cast of characters (and I do mean that in both senses). These guys really gave the courses I’ve done it’s fun factor for me.
In no particular order Tino; the dreadlocked Cassanova, Didan; the film and photo genius, Jen; the youngest looking 26 year old you’ve ever seen, a true cool DUDE. The office staff of Man and Gladys have done themselves proud organising all my ferries.
The courses I’ve done at Gili Air was the EFR/Rescue diver and parts of the Divemaster. Initially there was a lot of information to take in but once I got into the swing of how the school worked it became much easier to see how I slotted in to the overall routine.
For me the highlight has been doing the Divemaster and getting hands on experience with some Discover Scuba Divers and see how all the instructors brought a lot of personality to their instructing.
For my personal training the instructors have been excellent. From the dreaded “Swim Of Death” to the more basic demonstrating routine pre-dive safety checks. I can’t fault a thing. Like most I made some mistakes but with the uncomplicated and patient way all 3 teach it didn’t take me long to rectify the problems.
Next move is Lembongan! Divetastic!!
