A common octopus has provided our guests with a true underwater spectacle. The octopus was first spotted by our dive instructor Ilse who was guiding the discover SCUBA divers Jurriaan and Welling who were in turn accompanied by our dive master trainees Hayley and Dom. Jurriaan was especially impressed with the creature changing colors constantly from brown to red to white and back.
Later on our dive instructor Sam came around with his advanced open water students Kristin and Lisa and they were able to observe this common octopus show for the entire duration of their safety stop. The common octopus did not seem to mind that the divers were around; he was hungry and happy to show of his incredible hunting strategies.
Besides this rare encounter with a common octopus, our guests have been treated by views of many green sea turtles, white and black tip reef sharks, orang utan crabs, and a tiny black frogfish that was spotted by one of our guides in training Tian.
We have been running a very international week at the resort with our guests Ceci and Patrick from Sweden, Jens and Ceci from Denmark, Fabienne and Nadine from Switzerland, Franco and Monica from Italy, Luzius, Daniel, Monika, Erik, Annike, Ronja and Ingmar from Germany.
Our instructors are all busy teaching different kinds of courses. Tom has completed Fabienne’s open water and advanced open water course, whilst Ilse has taught Jurrian and Welling and turned Andrea, Tom, Hayley and Dom into Nitrox divers. Sam has been taking care of the advanced courses and certified Jens, Michael, Kristin and Lisa this week.
All instructors have combined their forces to get an amazing group of six to complete their PADI open water diver course. We wish Daniel, Monika, Erik, Annika, Ronja and Ingmar the best of luck for the upcoming days!
