Lembeh Strait is the main muck diving place in the world, it offers world-class diving all around the year and you can see plenty of critters barely seen elsewhere, like the Lembeh sea dragon, rare nudibranchs, uncommon frogfishes, and incredible octopuses. But what to do in Two Fish Lembeh if you are not diving or if you decide to have a dry day?
Chill out in our relaxing areas
In Two Fish Divers Lembeh we think of the divers and the non-divers alike. That is why we have recently built a relaxing area, where you can swing on a hammock or comfortably lay down on a sun lounger or a beanbag. There is also a small book exchange area and the Wifi connection is good. It is the perfect place to chill out and to read a good book.
Other sunloungers and hammocks wait for you in the tropical garden displaying colorful orchids, bougainvillea and hibiscus.
Sunsets!! Our resort is beach-side and faces NW so you can watch the beautiful sunsets most of the time from any of our relaxing areas!!
House reef snorkelling and diving
Our House Reef is meters from the cottages with easy access from the black sand beach facing the Strait, and you can take a swim in thew always-calm and current-free waters.
The reef offers great snorkeling opportunities and in the shallow staghorn coral, you´ll be able to encounter the beautiful mandarin fish even during the daytime, but also plenty of nudibranchs, juvenile barramundis, crocodile fish, pipefish, Banggai cardinalfish (a beautiful endemic species) and clownfish.
Have a sea adventure on SUP and Kayak
We also have a stand-up paddle and a kayak available in order to go for a trip in perfect water conditions for this kind of activities.
Explore Lembeh Island
We are based on Lembeh Island that lies almost under the equator off the north coast of Sulawesi, and the resort is surrounded by a thick tropical forest sheltering birds, beautiful butterflies, and elusive tarsiers.
The resort is connected by a small jungle trail to Mawali village, where the friendly locals won´t fail to greet the unexpected visitors. In the few streets, you will see nutmegs and cocoa beans drying under the sun, as a hint of genuine Eastern Indonesia. From there you can rent a motorbike in order to visit the islands and its villages with nice views on Sulawesi.
Visit Tangkoko National Park
Tangkoko National Park stands just one hour from Two Fish Lembeh. It is a vast natural reserve sheltering more than 100 species of mammals and 200 species of birds, most of them endemic. In the primary forest, you can encounter rare and endangered crested black macaques in big groups, spectral tarsiers, cuscus bears, snakes and lizards, and also maleo birds, hornbills, kingfishers, and owls, making it a paradise for birdwatchers and naturalists alike.
Located a few hours from the resort, the Tomohon district, a highland area surrounded by volcanos and tropical forest, lies in the heart of the Minahasan country. It offers great hiking and birdwatching opportunities. You can explore the villages and its lifeful markets and as this region is at 800m above sea level, you can cool down from the heat of the coast.
Visit Manado City
For the city lovers, you can access to Manado by a 2 hours road trip. It is a bustling Indonesian city where you can find malls, cinemas, restaurants and all the convenience of modern life.
Do some diving!
And while you are in Two Fish Lembeh why not to take a diving course in a PADI five stars dive center? For non-divers, our experienced and multilingual dive instructors would be happy to offer you a PADI Discover Scuba Diving (first diving experience) or a PADI Open Water Diver course (entry-level course), and for those who are already certified divers, you can improve your skills and experience through courses and Specialties.
