Amed House Reef, a new wreck and Divemaster Training in Bali
I started out by being an assistant on a PADI Open Water Course and I also helped on a Scuba Review to help “rusty” divers refresh their knowledge and skills! Even if you don’t feel that confident at the very beginning of your training, Two Fish Divers Crew and Instructors (Melissa, Markus, and Eze) are always there and available to help you to give the best of yourself! It’s a really good thing to be challenged every day, on every dive or course because as a Divemaster Trainee there is so much to learn!
Just a few of the things I have been helping with have included, getting all the gear ready to load in the boat, giving efficient dive briefings, helping to guide and spot some cool stuff underwater, like ghost pipefish, frogfish…etc. All essential jobs that need to be done in a busy dive center!
Amed House Reef
During you own Divemaster internship program or when assisting on a course, (like search and recovery, rescue courses… and so much more!), you often dive the Two Fish Amed “House Reef” because it’s right in front of the Dive Center. It’s always rewarding to take a few minutes to visit the newest attraction on the House Reef: a sunken ferry a.k.a “the house wreck”! It’s only a hundred meters from the shore and still very new, because the boat just sank a couple months ago. Marine life is starting to move into the wreck as it’s such a nice house for them! We try to spot some ghost pipefish on the ropes or just take a look through the windows… but the most rewarding experience was to have the chance to stare at an amazing Mimic Octopus with Melissa during search patterns for my Search and Recovery workshop!
Anyway… It’s always a pleasure to have the chance to dive the Amed House Reef, especially if you’re fond of muck diving – you certainly won’t be disappointed!
