Divemaster Training in Gili Air
Hello diving enthusiasts, my name is Patric and I am currently completing my Divemaster training in Gili Air! In the first 2 weeks of my training, I was at Two Fish South Lombok with Dom, my instructor. The first days were exhausting, but also very interesting. First I had to complete the EFR and PADI Rescue Diver Courses, so there was a lot to learn from the beginning. My instructor always came up with something new to challenge me and it never got boring. With a lot of theory but also a lot of training in the water, I was quite challenged, which made me sleep well because I was completely exhausted. Nevertheless, in the evening we were still sitting together, playing darts and enjoying a beer!
The people here are friendly, helpful and always in the mood for a joke, which made the stay not boring. The time was flying and the first 2 weeks were over faster than I want. Two Fish has several locations and you can distribute the training, which I find absolutely great, so I switched over to Two Fish Gili Air.
The first few days on Gili Air I could not go diving because I caught a middle ear Infection in and I had to stay dry. After this was finally over, I went to the pool to protect my ear a little bit. However, it was also not boring in the pool because there were many skills to learn. Likewise, various practical exams have already been taken, such as 400m swimming for time, etc. This was also a good test for me to determine my fitness level.
In addition to the skills that a Divemaster has to master, it was now also about learning to guide divers. This meant diving was the order of the day and gaining experience. With Markus, who is also training to become a PADI Divemaster, the training is even more fun. Because we can support each other, but also challenge the other. This is an advantage for me and I have a fellow sufferer!!!
All in all, the training and the stay here is completely great and I would do it again at any time. So you see, it is going ahead and will definitely not be boring. I am already looking forward and excited for the next few weeks of the apprenticeship. The only downside is that time flies to fast. So then, see you soon and you will hear from me again soon!
Goodbye for now from Gili Air!!
