We are back for a second up-date on our DM adventure that started 2-3 weeks ago. Time is flying by as our days are filled and quite varied, from following guides, to practicing skills in 2 meters of water, to watching the good old Open Water videos (that has been a while…).
After spending three wonderful, still very, very busy weeks in Nusa Lembongan, I finally transfered over here to the beautiful island of Bunaken.
Ever thought of becoming a DM and dreaming of a dive-center in a location that has tropical beaches and waving palms? We have, actually we have many times… Thinking of places like Maldives, Fiji, Palau and other exotic destinations. You might ask: “how the hell did you end up in the harbor of Bitung”?

Week 4 of Divemaster Internship in Bunaken Week 4 is when the mixed feelings came on pretty strong: ‘wow, I’m almost finished!’ mixed with, ‘this full-on immersion into Two Fish and DM life is going to end sometime soon, very soon.’
Week 3 of Divemaster Internship in Bunaken Week 3 is when the training routine felt completely like normal life. It’s exactly what I wanted to be doing, what I SHOULD be doing. I liked the feeling of familiarity — with the various jobs to be done, with the people, the schedule, the skills.

Week 1 of Divemaster Internship in Bunaken And so one gets to spend his 51st birthday diving, studying diving skills, getting underwater experience, new knowledge of marine life, new friends … and a school of dolphins frolicking on the surface after a dive! It overwhelms the emotions to think of the winter I left behind…
